A PRACTICAL GUIDE FOR WEB & IT CONSULTANTS
A client portal that follows the agreement.
Your client should be able to answer three questions: What did we agree? What needs my attention? What happens next?
KlientLab brings quotes, delivery, change approvals, and invoices into the same workspace. Here is a simple workflow for a website redesign or a small IT rollout.
1. Make the scope reviewable
Before starting, list the outcomes, phases, price, and what is excluded. Name the client who can approve the work. A useful website quote might separate discovery, design, build, and handoff. Ask for a decision on that scope before treating the project as active.
2. Give each phase a finish line
Turn a phase into deliverables with owners and due dates. “Homepage design approved” is clearer than “Design.” Keep the related files and feedback beside the deliverable so the next person has the context.
3. Record changes before doing extra work
If the client requests another integration, describe the added work, cost, and schedule impact in a change order. The client decision becomes part of the project record, and an approved change updates the project budget and end date.
4. Invoice against the agreement
Make the description useful to the person paying. Send the invoice from KlientLab and let the client use the payment link. Connect Stripe first; an invoice becomes paid only after the payment confirmation arrives.
5. Give support a separate queue
After handoff, use the optional Client Tickets add-on for new requests. Record time against a ticket, review the unbilled entries, and generate an invoice. Keep a small maintenance request separate from a new project scope.
Try it with one project
